Memorize
Learn words in the sentence you found them
Saves a word you meet while reading, together with its sentence and page address, in one click from a Chrome extension. The web app brings each card back with the FSRS algorithm just as you are about to forget it.

Why we built it
Word lists are cut off from context, so a memorised word goes unrecognised in the next text. Classic flashcard apps lose where you saw the word and repeat on fixed intervals. Memorize keeps the word with its sentence and times each review by how well that card has stuck.
Features
One-click capture
The Chrome extension saves the selected word, its sentence and the page address without breaking your reading flow.
Scheduling with FSRS
FSRS v4 instead of the older SM-2; the next review is set from how well the card has stuck and a target recall rate.
Two-minute sessions
First the word, then the highlighted sentence; rate it Again, Hard, Good or Easy and move straight on to the next card.
Streak and heatmap
A daily streak counter and a heatmap of the past year make steady practice visible.
One account, every device
Sign in with email or Google; cards live in your account, so a word captured in the extension is ready in the web app.
Serverless backend
AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB and Cognito, with the whole infrastructure managed as code in Terraform.
From reading to remembering
Capture
You select a word; the extension adds the sentence and page address and saves the card.
Schedule
FSRS sets the first review date.
Review
Due cards come up in a short session and get rated.
Retain
Every rating recalculates the next interval, so well-known words come up less and less.
Privacy and safety
- Every read and write is scoped to the signed-in user's identity; users cannot see each other's cards
- Input is validated before it reaches the database
- Logs never contain tokens, passwords or personal data
